He was a member of the Worthington Seventh-Day Adventist church and an active member of its Men's Bible Study Fellowship. He was an avid skydiver and a member of the Ohio National Guard Parachute Team and the Columbus Sport Parachute Club. Air Force veteran and a sergeant in the Ohio National Guard. He is survived by wife, Sharon (Mason) Potenza daughter, Ronda Potenza-Garcia son-in-law, Felix Garcia step-sons, Brad Mason and Marvin Mason granddaughters, Sara Garcia and Dylann Mason and grandsons, Declan Mason and Brogan Mason brother, John Potenza and his wife, Carol.
